SUPPORTING CHILDREN

The story that has reached beyond the books

Supporting Schools

Ric Hart is a UK children’s author who published five children’s books in two years. The Hugo and Daddy’s series offers age appropriate stories that give kids a safe space to explore loss, emotions, and resilience. Beyond books, Ric donates proceeds to the Children’s Bereavement Center in Newark. Bringing warmth, honesty, and a message of hope directly into primary schools.

Children's Bereavement Centre

The Hugo and Daddy’s journey has reached far beyond the pages of the books.

Ric has appeared on regional television, including alongside his son Hugo to share the story behind the books, and has featured across regional and national BBC Radio, discussing children’s books, bereavement, resilience and the importance of helping children navigate emotions and change.
These experiences have helped take the message of the Hugo and Daddy’s series beyond the bookshelves — reaching families, communities and audiences with one simple message:

Even when life changes, hope, imagination and possibility can remain.

Ric supported Misterton Primary School by donating £800 from his book sales of Hugo and Daddy’s School Adventures. The school used the money to develop the children’s allotment outside the receiption class area.
